Purpose
AdirondackCraft.com
provides an on-line retail outlet for Adirondack-based craftspeople,
artisans and small businesses who otherwise would not have Internet
exposure for their products. By providing high quality photography of
their products and a fully functioning e-commerce Web site, AdirondackCraft.com
provides new exposure for Adirondack-based artisans. AdirondackCraft.com
receives a small commission on each sale in order to maintain the site and
promote the quality and craftsmanship of the region's products.
Supporting Adirondack-Based Artisans
Every purchase you make directly supports the local artisans,
craftspeople and designers who reside in the Adirondacks and are an integral part
of the Adirondack experience. The growing popularity of the rustic, Adirondack look has brought
many new products on the market that are not produced within the Adirondacks.
AdirondackCraft.com offers you a source of authentic, Adirondack-made products.
The creativity that the artists on Adirondack Craft.com apply to their work is also
applied in the communities where they reside. They each contribute to the character
and quality of life of their communities but can only do so if the sale of their
products can support their families. Many rely on a short summer tourism season and
seasonal gift shows for a majority of their income.
If you are an Adirondack-based artisan and would like to
learn more about displaying your products on AdirondackCraft, you can call our office in Saranac Lake. You can also

registration forms.
About
the Region
The artisans and small businesses represented on
AdirondackCraft.com are all located within the Adirondack North Country region in
New York State. The region is bordered by Lake Champlain, Quebec, Lake Ontario, and
the St. Lawrence and Mohawk Rivers. The region is roughly the size of Vermont and New
Hampshire combined and is predominately a rural region. At the center of the region
is the six million acre Adirondack Park, a vast natural and scenic area that contains
the Adirondack Mountains and the highest peaks in New York State. The Adirondack Park
is the largest state park in the lower 48 states, but unlike many other parks it is
an even mix of private and public land. Although containing the largest amount of designated
wilderness east of the Mississippi, totaling one million acres and about 18 percent of its
area, the Adirondack Park is also home to 135,000 people scattered throughout its rural
landscape and 135 hamlets. The Adirondack region has a long tradition of craftsmanship,
resourcefulness, rugged beauty and rustic charm.

Shipping
Information Order handling and confirmation:
When you complete an order for an item, that item will,
in most cases, be shipped directly to you from the artisans and manufacturers who
produce it. From the time you place your order to the moment you or the gift recipient
have unpacked it, the staff at Adirondack Craft.com will remain involved in the
successful delivery of your purchase. We will confirm your order by e-mail, contact
the artisan to arrange shipping, contact you when your order is shipped, and confirm
your satisfaction with your purchase.
Availability and delivery: Because the majority of these
items are handcrafted and some are actually made to order, the availability and delivery time
vary by product. We will confirm the delivery time with you by e-mail after
receiving your order. We encourage you to carefully review the delivery time for the product
you like. If you are uncertain if the timeframe is acceptable or suitable, please e-mail us
with the date you need the item by so that we can confirm that delivery date with the artisan.
Thanks to e-mail communication, the necessary information can be turned around quickly.
Choice of shipping: We try to offer you a choice of UPS or
United States Postal Service (USPS) shipping on each item. However, some of the artisans can
only ship their items using one or the other. That limitation is noted on the order form. Please
provide the appropriate mailing or shipping address so that your purchase will arrive without
unnecessary delay.
Ordering from multiple artisans: Finally, if you order
items from multiple artisans, your order will likely arrive in multiple packages. You will
be charged an average shipping cost based on the total purchase price of your order rather
than a separate shipping cost for each item.
Shipping rates, based on the total purchase price of your order,
are as follows:
|
Total Purchase |
Shipping |
| less than $20.00 | $6.00 |
| $20.00 to $39.99 | $9.00 |
| $40.00 to $99.99 | $15.00 |
