Old Adirondack Furniture
The Old Adirondack Furniture Company traces its history to the Great Camps of the Adirondack Park circa 1880 - 1929. Today, the modern 25,000 square foot production facility is not far from the horse nail factory of its Willsboro roots. Old Adirondack is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain-of-Custody (COC) certified through SmartWood and the Residents Committee to Protect the Adirondacks and is authorized to manufacture and market FSC-certified cedar products. Wood products certified as FSC are recognized as coming from "well managed" and sustainable forests adhering to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards in accordance with the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council. In addition, their wood waste is ground into shavings to be used as high quality animal bedding and most of their corrugated packaging utilizes re-use or recycled content cardboard. Products by Old Adirondack FurnitureOld Adirondack Furniture is built using Northern White Cedar, natural and untreated, that grows in moist woodlands in the Northeast. Naturally splinter-free cedar absorbs and loses moisture slowly, which minimizes the dry cracking, splintering, and swelling more characteristic of oak or pine. Cedar has the US Forest Products Laboratory highest rating for decay and disease resistance, and fresh cedar odor is a mild insect repellent. Our cedar products are shipped unfinished and in their natural color, pale tan or light gold; the color changes evenly over time to a silver gray. Water-based or oil stains will delay the weathering process and help preserve furniture items you intend to use outdoors. Durable zinc-coated and stainless hardware is used on Old Adirondack Furniture. Click Images to View Details
