John & Barbara King began creating "slices of life cut from wood" as a hobby which later evolved into the labor of love called Silhouettes by Kings. Primarily created for their children & grandchildren, so good times together would be fondly remembered, a Silhouette by Kings will evoke wonderful memories of days gone by.

Once Barb's unique and insightful artwork is drawn, John transfers the design to Baltic Birch, a lightweight and not too brittle wood also chosen for its strength and flexibility. Using a large jeweler's magnifying glass, John patiently and carefully drills and then cuts every line. Each piece is then sanded, mounted, and sealed with 3 coats of flat black paint - a memory ready to be shared!
