Stony Creek Decoy Company
Unfortunately Leo McIntosh's products are no longer available. AdirondackCraft.com will continue to display these products in tribute to his talent and his contribution to American craft. Working in his Adams, New York studio, Leo H. McIntosh produced some of the most sought after wildlife art. Each piece was meticulously carved, using only select native white pine and cedar, then painted with the finest artist oils and finally hand-rubbed to a soft mellow patina. A National and World carving champion, Mr. McIntosh relied on the knowledge afforded him from 30 years of field study, including frequent hunting and fishing trips in the Tug Hill and Wanakena region. Products by Stony Creek Decoy CompanyStony Creek Decoy Company, owned and operated by L.H. McIntosh, offered exquisite wildlife carvings, including the field corn decoy and fish decoys pictured here. These unique art collectibles represent a bygone era and help highlight the history of hunting and fishing in the rugged Adirondack region of New York State. Whether it was the subtle iridescence of a Northern Loon or the brilliance of a fall Brook Trout, Mr. McIntosh was not satisfied until the piece conveyed the essence of the Adirondack experience.
