Enhancing the Adirondack arts and crafts economy has been a guiding
principle in the formation and continued development of
AdirondackCraft.com. Putting the Internet to work for craftspeople and
producers that are based in the Adirondack North County region benefits
local economies that are overly dependent on public sector employment and a
short tourism season. We
are proud to partner with the following organizations that are
demonstrating their support for small business retention and expansion
through their support of AdirondackCraft.com.
Adirondack North Country Association - The
Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) is a not-for-profit private corporation that
invigorates and strengthens the economy and quality of life in the 14 counties of Northern
New York. Located in Saranac Lake, their phone is 518-891-6200.
Adirondack Farmers Market - The
Adirondack Farmers' Market Cooperative, Inc. promotes and manages local farmers' markets in the
Adirondack/Champlain Valley region of New York, and currently sponsors seven farmers' markets.
Adirondack Craft Center - When
visiting the Adirondacks you can purchase many of the same items featured on AdirondackCraft.com
at the Adirondack Craft Center. Located in Lake Placid across from Howard Johnsons, their phone is 518-523-2062.
SBIR Program of USDA CSREES - Development of AdirondackCraft.com
was supported by the USDA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, grant number 00-33610-9436.
SBIR's flexible research areas ensure innovative projects consistent with USDA's vision of a
healthy and productive nation in harmony with the land, air, and water. USDA SBIR has awarded
over 1,900 research and development projects since 1983, allowing hundreds of small businesses
to explore their technological potential, and providing an incentive to profit from the commercialization
of innovative ideas.
